Matthew, who has long opposed the encroachment of dogs on his territory, extended an olive branch to long-time nemesis, Belle. An uneasy peace exists between the two parties although experts believe this could be short-lived as Matthew continues to demand that Belle stop barking while he eats. Neither side was available for comment.
