Attention, Matthew Junkies!

For the real hardcore Matthew fans (you know who your are) .... we've figured out a way to post a whole boatload of pictures in a web album that is tied to this blog. As a test case, I uploaded pretty much all our pics from Christmas - if this works, I will try and post more.

Here is how you access it:

1. Click on the little slideshow that is scrolling on the right side of the blog screen (about halfway down).... it is the one of the same pics from Matthew's first day home.

2. On the top-middle of the next screen there should be a link that says cmurphy's albums - CLICK THIS!

3. Then click on the link for Christmas 09.

Again, let me know if this works.

Matthew The Magnificent

Matthew is in training to become a world-class gymnast. Once a week he attends a class at a local gymnastics studio where he is learning to bounce on trampolines and walk on balance beams, etc.

Normally Matthew goes during the week with Jodi but he had a make up class this Saturday morning and Jodi has a cold so I took Matthew and we had a pretty fun time. The class is meant to involve the parents as most of the kids are 2-3 years old max.

Activities tend to revolve around walking these little obstacle courses which involve climbing over and crawling through things, picking up germs, etc. Matthew rarely listens to the teachers and it is common for him to just get up and walk out when the teacher is giving instructions. But I guess its a good opportunity for us to teach him to listen to an authority figure like a teacher, I suppose that is a good thing for him to pick up on early. So far, I think he does a nice job of listening to us.

Anyway, I didn't really get a chance to take pictures today because I was too busy chasing Matthew around but here are a couple as well as a few from around the house. Note he is sitting under a quilt that my grandmother made for me when I was little, wearing a batman shirt, reading a batman comic book.

Matthew at Toddler Time

Little Matthew still goes to Toddler time once per week. This is in addition to a gymnastics class that he also does (we'll get some pics of that soon).

Matthew still loves running around and playing with the toys in the gym before the class starts. Here he is playing with wagons that are connected together. He seems to think they are like trains and you can see in one picture where he is trying to make a train out of them.

In other news, today was our last visit with Jean, our social worker for the post-placement part of our adoption. Now we just wait on a lawyer and a bunch of people in the Massachusetts state government - so we should have this adoption finalized by 2012 some time. Just kidding we think it should all be done some time this spring and Matthew will officially be a US citizen.

Thanks for Registering

Thanks again for registering so you can view the blog.

Sorry about that hassle but glad you're on board. Of course, I owe you some Matthew Murphy media, so here you go:

By the way, one of those pics is of Matthew eating his first ever pizzelle on Christmas day.

Matthew Comes Clean

In other news, Matthew took a bath the other night and got particularly soapy.

Matthew in Florida With His Cousins

Seems like some good times had by Matthew and his buddies down in Florida.

More Christmas Footage

Now that we've put away almost all of our Christmas decorations, it's time to relive Christmas once again with some footage of Matthew getting showered with presents and playing with new toys.

Happy New Year!

This past new year's my good friend from college, Dave Fine came up to visit with his wife Jacki and their little girl Isabel who is just 4 months older than Matthew. We went out to eat the other night and caught a hockey game while the gals took the kids to the Children's Museum in Boston.
Here are some pics from New Year's Eve (disclaimer: we were all home in bed by midnight).

Some Christmas Pics

Just in time for everyone to take down their Christmas decorations, here are some pics from Christmas day.
