Halloween Was Fun

As you can imagine, halloween with a 2-year old can be a fun thing. Suffice to say Matthew is not ordinary two year old and therefore, Halloween ended up being even more fun than expected.

Things started out with a million different halloween things Matthew and Jodi these past few weeks including carving pumpkins, watching halloween shows and singing halloween songs. All things halloween came to a head this weekend. We had a nice trip to the zoo yesterday with my parents and Aunt Andy and Matthew got to wear his costume and trick or treat at the zoo. Then today we had a good old fashioned halloween with trick or treating.

We took Matthew out around our neighborhood. He said "trick or treat" and "thank you" (with a little prodding) and he had a lot of fun riding his horse "Bullseye" around the neighborhood. Brad and Rachel came by to join in on the festivities and even got their own costumes. Jodi made a very delicious dinner and the Patriots won.

Matthew was looking forward to Halloween for weeks and I think he had a very good time!

How Do You Like Them Apples?

We went apple picking yesterday with our friends Melissa and Chandra and Melissa's 4-year-old daughter, Ariana and 2-year old boy Aidan. Dana also came and we had a really nice time. It was a really perfect day for being outside ... classic fall weather. Most apples are actually picked in September before it really becomes fall-like outside so there weren't too many apples left on the trees but we managed to make off with a couple pretty big bags - enough for Matthew to eat 5-6 apples a day and Jodi to bake a pie (which she is doing as I write this).

It's great to see the little kids hang out. Matthew loves playing with Aidan and totally looks up to Ariana and even walks around holding her hand sometimes. Here are some videos ... and there will be a lot more pics to come.

We're back...

Sorry it's been a while, but nothing exciting has been going on lately. Today we went apple picking with Melissa, Ariana, Aidan, Chandra and Dana. It's always fun when Matthew gets together with Ariana and Aidan and today was no different. Unfortunately, our camera battery died so we only have a few pictures. Chandra will be sending us her pictures soon and we will post some more.

It's Official!

Matthew has been home with us since July 22nd, 2009 but today it became legit - Matthew is our son and a US citizen! That's right, in the opinion of the people who really count - Mass State Officials - Jodi and I are Matthew's real parents.

Congratulations to little Matthew!

Happy Belated Birthday to Granny!

I can't believe it's been almost a month since we've posted on the blog. Sorry to all of our loyal followers (you know who you are : ) ) Since we came home from Maine, we spent two weeks around Boston and then Matthew and I headed south to Florida. We spent a week celebrating Granny's birthday, going to the beach, and having an all-around fun time. Happy belated birthday Granny!!

Matthew in his big boy seat on the airplane (the first flight he had to have his own seat- he loved it!)

Jessica and I decided to give my mom a picture of all three boys (which we have NEVER been able to do before) for her birthday. We had a "photo session" with the boys that resulted in 30 awful pictures and one amazing picture. FYI... the shirts say "Happy" "Birthday" "Granny".

The finished product...
Look for a new post the beginning of next week... Monday morning we will be in court for the long-overdue and much-anticipated adoption finalization!!
